Wine, Women & Song highlighted the Opening Reception of the first ArtOberfest, held at Windham ArtSpace. Over 300 people braved the wind & rain to attend a joyous and festive event. Conversation and friendship flowed as freely as the wine, and the enjoyment was even better than the art work on display. Featured entertainment included belly dancing by four of the Red Skye Dancers. Shajara, Huzzab, Leena and Aria captivated the audience with ensemble and solo numbers. Zoe, Erin and Laura were equally entertaining with their original Modern Dance number, directed by Heather Lambert, of the Northeast Academy of Dance. Acoustic music by Jim Hammitt & Ruth O'Neil rounded out the evening with sweet harmonies and folk favorites. H'ors d'oeuvres and beverages were consumed as if by a horde of locusts! At 8PM we had to run to Elm Package for more wine. Nary a crumb was left over (making cleanup a breeze!) Over 26 artists were represented, featuring many new pieces and several notable works from a private collection.
